The motto “More Music, Less Talk” has become closely associated with the celebrity DJ Sounds 4 Life, highlighting his place among a rare breed of DJs who let their mixes speak for themselves. Marlon Baptiste discovered his passion for music at just 12 years old, learning under the guidance of his relatives, Jansen Archie and Hess Archie. What began as a hobby soon grew into performing at gatherings for friends and family in his homeland,
Trinidad and Tobago. His love and passion for music was evident, and after migrating to the US it was no surprise that he emerged into New York’s limelight as a professional disc jockey.
The name “Sounds 4 Life” embodies his belief that music goes beyond mere sound—it’s a lifestyle and a vital part of who he is known as the “Silent Assassin,” he has a rare gift for electrifying any crowd, turning even the stillest room into pure energy. With seamless precision, he blends, chops, and reimagines tracks on the fly, crafting an endless flow of sound that keeps audiences of all ages moving without pause. A genuine master of the craft, Sounds 4 Life performs at carnivals and events throughout the year, including Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, , St. Vincent, Bermuda, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, Toronto, Brooklyn's Labor Day Parade, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami and Washington DC.
In 2008, Sounds 4 Life expanded the brand and added promoter to his repetoire. Along with his mentors Jansen and Hess, Sounds 4 Life launched their first event "C’est la Vie", an ultimate breakfast boat cruise that’s held the Sunday after New York’s Labor Day festivities. In the spring of 2010, they launched "Pure" an all-white affair that signifies the true essence of their motto: Pure music, Pure vibes, Pure energy, and Pure satisfaction. To end off a successful year of events, Sounds 4 Life executed Fade 2 Black, the all-black gala. In the summer of 2022, Sounds 4 Life debuted its new summer soirée, Allure—an enchanting, high-energy experience that quickly captured attention.
Today, Pure, Allure, C’est La Vie, and Fade 2 Black stand as highly anticipated annual events, each known for their vibrant atmosphere, top-tier entertainment, and unforgettable vibes.
